Bass District Leadership Development Camp (Dev Camp)
Established in the early 2000s by Bass District clubs to lift the number of lifesaving qualifications on patrol, the Bass District Leadership Development Camp began at Waratah Beach SLSC and continues to be hosted at our club to this day.
What the camp offers
An intensive, scenario-based program that mirrors real patrol incidents to build technical skills, teamwork, decision-making and leadership.
Qualifications and skill development may include:
- First Aid
- Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART)
- Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crew
- IRB Driver (where eligible)
- Upskilling and refreshers on existing awards
Who can apply
- Current members who hold a Bronze Medallion; and
- Have at least one season of active patrolling experience.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are coordinated through each Bass District club in the lead-up to summer.
