Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club would like to extend our sincere thanks to AusNet for their support through the second round of the Energy Resilience Community Fund.
☀️ With this funding, Waratah Beach SLSC will install solar panels and battery storage at the club.
🔋 The primary outcome of this project is to ensure a reliable power source during blackouts, enabling the club to maintain:
- Critical operations
- Communication
- Lighting
- Emergency response activities
🌱 Beyond emergency preparedness, the installation of a solar power system represents a sustainable and long-term energy solution for our not-for-profit surf lifesaving club. It will:
- Reduce reliance on traditional power sources
- Lower operational costs
- Allow cost savings to be reinvested into lifesaving services, training programs, and community initiatives
